Island Cottage 11"x14" (sold)  This lovely cottage is on Captiva Island, Florida.  This is the view from the beach. It was very hot the day I painted this and I was grateful to escape the sun under the lush garden canopy.

    When you live in beautiful places like northern Michigan and southwest Florida, it's natural to find inspiration in your surroundings.
    I'm lucky enough to have homes in Bear Lake, MI., and Cape Coral, Fl.  And you''ll likely find me painting outdoors "en plein air" most weeks in one or the other places, depending on the season, capturing the breathtaking landscapes and lovely scenes throughout these special areas.
    When I'm not painting outdoors, you will find me working in my studio on more complicated paintings, and putting the finishing touches on pieces done in the field.
